Miette River April 20/43 [1943]
Good sheep range peters out within
4 or 5 miles west of town on the
north side of the river. There are [word crossed out] is
none on the south side
Jasper to Poboktan. April 21/43 [1943].
Fair number of sheep. (8 seen) from old
fort point up to Mile 6. Range peters
out about mile 13.
Only sheep on west side is a small
band on the bluffs along the
lower part of the Astoria. Estimated
at 20 head. I saw one old ram
+ 4 ewes.
At mile 28 there are some grassy
slides on the mts. [mountains] to the east. Here I
saw one old ram.
Sheep reported to summer on Jonas +
Nigel Pass
Maligne - Jasper. April 22/43 [1943]
Saw 16 rams along Maligne Canyon
in age from 3 up.
16 sheep including 4 rams not before
tallied on west side below town.
4 rams on lower slopes ofPyramid.

Saw sheep today as follows
24 on S [south] facing slope 6 miles W. [west] of town.
