  • The redstart is the most abundant bird here. Next is Magnolia warbler, + song sparrow. Heard Evening Grosbeaks, saw [male symbol] Western Tanager + 4 Cedar Waxwings. Crows abundant + noisy. Heard 4 Coyote, some moose sign about. July 3, 1936. 100 Mile Lake, Quesnel Skinned all morning, went to Quesnel for supplies + mail in the afternoon. Still raining. Took [male symbol] magnolia, yng [young] [male symbol] redstart + a Black capped chickadee. Thrushes here are all Hermit Thrush. Heard a different flycatcher down by the river, it sounded like a Traill. July 4, 1936 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel, B.C. [British Columbia] Thundered + rained off + on all day with intermittent sunshine. Examined another Holboell Grebe nest. 1 egg hatched, 1 pipped + 2 sound. Hatched young one was nowhere in sight. Around s. [south] end of lake in willows saw a brood of young chipping sparrows +
