- Lac La Hache July 14/49 [1949].
Ran into Williams Lake on business
+ took the opportunity of checking
Corral Bay. It held 4 broods
of baldpate [American wigeon]
2 broods #1's 7 each.

Phillilloo [Phililloo] Lake. July 15/49 [1949].
Followed a logging road from
Wright Station for about 2 miles
+ then a track through the woods
for another 2 miles.
Found the lake to be an excellent
duck + goose lake, many long bays
+ shallow sloughs open onto
a deeper part about 3/4 mile
long. small beds of scirpus are
numerous + many of them backed
by wet meadows of sedge.
Bottom good for building traps
Phililloo Lake. July 16
Rain in morning. In afternoon
went to the lake + completed the
banding operation taking 100
goldeneyes, bufflehead + scaup.
Saw the following broods.
Goldeneye 3's, 3 [female symbol]'s with 20 yng. [young]
2's, 1 [female symbol] + 8
1's 2 [female symbol]'s + 15
1's 1 [female symbol] + 4
