seed. The leaves had in many
cases been cropped short but
the seed head left untouched.
Stomach examination of 18 mos [months]
doe: Fir tips 33 1/2%, alder leaves
33 1/3%. Bracken, willow + mushroom 33 1/3
with casuals of poplar + cedar.
Parasites: Small white roundworms on
mesenteries. 7 in number, perhaps
more. Identified by Dr. Guberlet as
Setaria cervi
Two unengorged ticks - [female symbol] D. [Dermacentor] albipictus
according to A. Mail. (Letter Nov. [November] 8/38 [1938])
About 2 dozen Mallophaga [underlined] in
inguinal region.
Moderate Lipoptena [underlined] infestation
Beds. Young does jumped from a
well used bed beneath a
brush pile. Right front leg
was evidently stiff from being
lain on as it ran on 3 legs for
a bit. Examination showed leg
to be in perfect shape.
Disease. Liver bore 4 cysts just below
the surface near margin of lobes, each size
of a dime + filled with greenish semi solid.
