the abundant southbound Oceanic records.
I don't think this means anything more than
a lot of inexperienced young. He points out
that northbound these oceanic occurrences
are absent.
6. "Explosive migration" used by him to
refer to erratic population movements
such as the red grouse flying out to sea
+ perishing in thousands. These seem to
have one feature in common with normal
migration. The birds become very fat
before it happens.
