July 19/[illegible date - most likely 1943]
Today saw 3 billys [billies] on N [north] side of
little Pipestone near the summit,
4 more [male symbol]'s on Mt [mount] Cyclone. And a
band of 8 just below the Drummond
glacier. It was not possible to tell
sex or age but they were probably
[female symbol]'s.
Moult:- 3 of the 4 [male symbol]'s on Cyclone were
shed, the 4th not.
Banff. July 20/43 [1943]
Saw 2 goat at the foot of Mt [mount]
Hector on Molar Pass.
Banff. July 25/43 [1943]
Examined goat lick on corner of glacier
Cr. [creek] + Howse River. Not in use at this
time but had been earlier in the year.
A white bank, like Athabasca lick.
Apparently strongly laxative.
Took earth from goat lick on
Spray at 9 mile + on West road
at 7 mile. Neither appear to have
laxative effect - at least not that
on the Spray.
Census 10 [female symbol] + yearl. [yearling] + 2 kids at
7 mile. [Walter] Childs saw 6 at Spray on 24th.
Two or 3 use lick on Goat Cr. [creek]
Brazeau Basin. July 28/43. [1943]
Saw 3 old billys [billies] on a ledge in Indian
Pass. Found some goat hair on the flat about
a mile above our camp.
