tundra prairie west of camp.

Saw a hen with 7 downy chicks,
she was so concerned that I was
able to catch her by hand.

Saw 3 cocks + a hen with 5 chicks
and another hen without chicks.
Took one cock + the latter hen.
Crops of both stuffed with willow
leaves.
