- House Finch.
Mar. [March] 21, 1939. Victoria, B.C. [British Columbia]
Saw first singing male today.
It was sitting in a small
oak near St [Saint] Anns primary
school + permitted my approach
to about 20 ft [feet] before moving
a short distance into another
tree.
Victoria May 3, 1939.
There are 5 [male symbol]'s singing
between the office + our house.
+ at least two more in the
vines of the Empress Hotel.

Heard first house finch today
Mar. [March] 14/40 [1940]. Victoria
Saw 7 housefinches of which at
least 3 possibly 4 were full
plumaged males, feeding on a
mossy rock in the park
