- yearling group than was made in
December at which time it is easy
to get a few long yrls [yearlings] of both sexes in
the adult ewe count.
The yearling count in the spring was
30% of ad [adult] [female symbol]'s [illegible words crossed out]
This might suggest a heavy summer
loss to produce the indicated % in Dec. [December] of
12% However this result is thought to be
largely due to the Dec. [December] counts being made
60% on the Pallisades + Old Fort Bands
that had almost no spring yearling populations.
Comparison band by band of [illegible word crossed out] spring +
winter yearling tallies alone will reveal
sig. [significant] trends in yearling loss through
second summer.
