Bohemian waxwings in hundreds
several nighthawks, yellow warblers,
song sparrows, water thrushes,
eagles, 4 broods Amer. [American] Mergansers.
Rufous Hummingbirds quite common.
Last winter Tom McKinley
caught 5 lynx, 2 beaver, a
number of marten, a wolverine
+ weasels on Pondosy Lake. Was
once followed by 9 Black wolves
on Eutsuk + shot 2 of them.
July 22/36. [1936] Ootsa.
Settled into cabin again.
Found pack rats in old house +
set traps, picked up rabbit
skull, caught a Thamnophis
sirtalis [underlined]
July 23/36 [1936] Traps held 15 microtus, 2
Zapus, + 2 neotoma.
Took a single ad [adult] [male symbol] thrush, young
not long out of nest. The cliff
swallow young are flocking. Saw
about 70 of them together. The tree
swallows were flocking similarly
along the Tahtsa river July 21/36.[1936]
