  • Mallard. Spider Island. B.C. [British Columbia] July 3, 1939. Today an adult female landed in the lake at the north end of the island, the only one seen to date. Indian River, BC. [British Columbia] Nov. [November] 5-7, 1942. Saw about 50 mallards, singles + small groups feeding on dead salmon + spawn along the river for at least the lower 5 miles.
