Aug 2 [1931]: My traps in the
Long grass in the hay meadow
west of camp took a male
microsorex, 2 small
shrews (cinereus?) 2 voles
and a Peromyscus.
The traps in the spruce
woods held 2 juvenile
+ one adult female
Euotomys Mr [Kenneth] Racey took
a juvenile Varying Hare
in one of his snares.
Spent the whole day skinning
Took a large female
muskrat in my muskrat
trap.
Aug [August] 3 [1931]. Started the day by going
over to the spruce woods
with Joyce [Racey]. The mouse
traps held 2 Euotomys
and two peromyscus
While setting a mouse trap
a small weasel came
out from under a stump
and was promptly added
to the bag. Two of
my snares held rabbits
both 3/4 grown. The trap
[illegible word] in the hay field
took two shrews, 2 voles
and a peromyscus.
