  • July 8 [1958] Copenhagen [underlined] Joyce had a hairdressers appointment at 8:30 while I went downtown on a prowl of book dealers. Museum at 2 where we met [Magnus] Degerbol, had a short chat then spent the afternoon measuring muskox. The museum has about 70 reasonably complete skulls of all ages. All but 4 are from Greenland + cover the range of the animals there. Peary land [Pearyland] to Soresbysund [Scoresby Sund]. There are some 10-12 new skulls, mostly [female symbol]'s from Soresbysund [Scoresby Sund] winter 1956-57, in very good condition. Measured 12 large
