- 36 Kano Mitsuo, 1933- , (medium: copper plate), is interested in French literature, symbolism and surrealism. His work has been influenced by Max Ernst. Kano does not begin his work with any preconceived plans, but as soon as he puts his knife upon the metal, images begin to appear.

37 Tajima Hiroyuki, 1922- , (medium: woodblock), works with bright colours that give an illuminous effect, and in some cases appear like red hot volcanic lava. His colours often bubble out from dark backgrounds. Tajima�s intricate prints are both simple and exciting.

38 Fukazawa Yukio, 1924- , (medium: silkscreen, etching), tries to combine geometrical forms with subtle textures in his work. He is constantly experimenting with new printing techniques.

39 Fukita Fumiaki, 1926- , (medium: woodblock), likes to experiment with bursting patterns and radial forms. His futuristic prints offer an exciting space phenomenon which extends into infinity.

40 Yoshida Masaji, 1917-1971, (medium: woodblock), started out as a painter but turned to making prints in an abstract fashion. His style calls for precisely carved blocks and perfect registry.
