Very common breeding bird. Heard
+ seen at all times of the day but
principally early morning + evening
Took a bdg [breeding] [male symbol] in evening + [Ian McTaggart] Cowan took
two bdg [breeding] males - all river bottom flat.
June 27./37 [1937] Took another bdg. [breeding] [male symbol] this a.m. [morning]
was in spruce tree east side of Kettle River
[Ian McTaggart] Cowan found a nest containing five eggs. Was in
low juniper bush three feet from ground. [Female symbol] taken
as well as nest + eggs.
Mt [Mount] Revelstoke Park, B.C. [British Columbia] July 1. 1937.
Very numerous everywhere + a bdg. [breeding]

over westerly slope. Took three birds 2/[male symbol]
+ 1/[female symbol]. Note that in all the Hermit Thrushes
taken here + on the Monashee Pass that females
are invariably in better condition than the
males + usually have a considerably amt. [amount]
of fat which is lacking in the males.
