- Traps held nothing. We
packed our outfit + started
up Eutsuk at 9 AM but
in 30 minutes the lake
was so rough we had
to land in a sheltered bay
where we waited until
5:30 P.M. then ran across
to Grell Cove + had supper
+ waited some more.
Finally at 8 o'clock we
got started + after considerable
tossing rounded Iron
point + headed up St [Saint]
Thomas Bay toward the
portage. Reached the
portage at 9:05 P.M. Had
all our outfit across by
10:30 + started down
Whitesail. At 12 o'clock
we tied up the boat
near the river + slept
on board.

This morning we came
down the Whitesail + on
home. Coming down the
river George + I poled most
of the time as the water
