- Canada Goose.
Willow Cr. [Creek] May 25, 1944.
On the lake near Deer Creek we
saw 8 geese. Six of these were
standing together + 2 of them were
much smaller than the others. The
tops of their heads came only about
one inch or two inches above the
bottom of the stocking on the larger
ones.
Blue Creek. May 26/44 [1944]
Today came on a pair of geese +
6 downy, newly hatched goslings. They
were in the Snake Indian river +
promptly left their young. We later
found one stray gosling they had
not picked up. It was very cold
+ exhausted + called loudly.
