Receipt No. 2 Dissolve Corrosive Sublimate and permangenate of potash, in pure water in the proportions of 2 drams of Each salt to the gallon. This is quite odorless and is best for a sick room. It is highly poisonous --- To disinfect the person, use chlorinate Soda (Liquor soda Chlorinata) diluted with 9 parts of water --- Boiling half an hour will destroy the germs of all Kinds, and is the very best way to destroy the germ vitality Receipt No. 3 Dissolve 4 ounces of Corrosive Sublimate and one pound of Sulphate of Copper in one gallon of water. 2 fluid ounces of this solution is Enough to disinfect the clothing of any one --- Solutions of Corrosive Sublimate should not be placed in metal vessels but in a wooden tub or Earthenware crock. --- For privy vaults, where any infectious Excreta has been poured, use one pound of Corrosive Sublimate for Every 500 pounds of fecal matter. Or use if only plain Excretia use chloride of Lime. If the odor is objectionable, use Receipt No. 2 by applying daily or 5 gallon, which should be kept in a barrel ready.
