  • Peromyscus:- took female in pit. Mule Deer:- Jumped 2 does sleeping in the sun at the top of North cliff. They went off very quietly. In the evening a buck then a doe + two yearling fawns came across the S. [south] cliff face. The doe + fawns stayed around for 15 or 20 minutes eating the soil from the cliff face, probably it is alkaline. Took 50 Oestrid larvae from the nasal passages of the doe shot 2 days ago. The whole inside of the nasal cavity towards the rear was simply jammed with them. Hole in the nasals to the surface. Orange black flies + no-see-ums started to appear. Note. R.McD. Stewart tells me that last year (1931) a buck Coast Deer was taken in Atlin. This is the 2nd in 20 years.
