  • Canis latrans Dormer Cabin. Aug. [August] 11/45 [1945] On top of the pass saw a coyote with an injured right fore leg. The injured led was visibly swollen, looked white furred - + was carried with the elbow held at rt. [right] angles + the forearm straight forward. Very little coyote sign - no dung along the trail. N Sulphur Springs. Aug. [August] 13/45 [1945] No fresh + very little old sign between Dormer + the corners. One fresh track on trail about 3 miles east of here, but only 2 winter droppings seen. Two fresh droppings near camp contained 1 elk hair, 1 groundsquirrel. Scotch Camp. Aug. [August] 15/45 [1945] 2 fresh droppings. groundsquirrel Saw one animal here tonight. " [Scotch Camp] Aug. [August] 16/45 [1945] Fresh tracks in the mud in a little side pass off the top of Snow Creek Pass. " [Scotch Camp] Aug. [August] 17/45 [1945] On Tyrrel Cr. [creek] Pass saw a pr [pair] of ads. [adults] with 2 pups + later saw another of undetermined age - possibly juvenile. One of the adults was obviously moulting
