  • Magnolia Warbler June 28-July 2, 1936 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel, B.C. Next to the Redstart this is the most abund [abundant] warbler here. Its song consists of 5 syllables "Swee- swee-swee-whitl-swee. I took a [male symbol] at our camp at 9 AM on June 30 and by 7 AM on July 1 its territory was reoccupied by another [male symbol]. So far have not seen a [female symbol]. The birds feed in the second growth aspen + willow for the most part but occassionally [occasionally] hunt in the spruce + balsam, but always about 15-20 feet from the ground. Not heard at river level at Quesnel. July 5, 1936 10 Mile Lake. This morning the territory again had a singing male after 4 days interval. This time I took both birds.
