Heard two on the benches down by Devona.
Saw tracks everywhere. about 5 or 6 indiv [individuals] represented
Several (5) old dens found in a
group on a south facing hillside
2 miles [illegible word crossed out] west of Devona Cabin.
Food. 8 droppings examined
7 100% deer hair, bone + meat.
1. 100% sheep " [hair] + blood residue.
All above taken low down where
hills were frequent.
Frank Wells tells of a large buck
pulled down by two coyotes. Ran
deer near Talbot Lake, slashed flank
until viscera came out.
Killing [underlined] 56 killed in winter 1941-42 mostly
in the Athabasca Valley.

Two droppings entirely of beaver
fur. One of 100% Mt [mountain] sheep lamb hair,
Two 100% deer, one 100% elk hair.
Food Decoigne. Ap April 20/43 [1943]
Killed yearling beaver in early morning
of April 4. Was disturbed + driven
off.
