Some of the yearlings may have fallen into
the yearl. [yearling] steer category along with most,
if not all of the ad [adult] steers missing.
This would account for the surplus
of 48 in the yearl. [yearling] steer category.
Polk feels that small groups of
deer got away last Nov. [November] after the kill
and this spring after fawning.
The above figures show a loss of only
10 fawns during the winter.
