The phenacomys frequent the
logs + old stumps in the
driest + most exposed bearberry
patches The bearberry in the
shaded gulches being without
sign of their presence.
4 nests were found. Each [word crossed out] 3 of which

+ made of very fine dry
grass, about 3 inches in
diameter. Each had a midden
about 3 inches from the
back of the nest.
