Brooks dwarf Savanna Sparrow. [underlined]
First seen Mch [March] 22nd 1924 + then on Mch [March] 29th. Rd [road] 8 Lulu Isd. [Island]
about 16 observed.
April 28/24 [1924] 25 seen Rd [road] 8 Lulu Isd [Island].
May 28/24 [1924]. About 50 breeding birds seen
about the Delta outside Ladner. One [male symbol] taken
stomach contained 8 caterpillars, + no seeds
One of the caterpillar was small + bright
green in colour, about 2/3 of inch in length. The other
seven were larger + long[?] brownish in colour.
Lulu Isd. [Island] [underlined] May 2/29 [1929] Several seen on
fence along road 8.
Fraser Valley May 2 to 4, 1924 - Only about
15 seen + these mostly on the peatlands South
east of Mr Stallard's [?] farm, 2 miles distant.
May 24/24 [1924] Seven seen about Sardis +
South Sumas.
March 26. 1934 Huntingdon BC [British Columbia] The first
bird arrived this am [morning] + remained near a
manure pile, either perched on the pole or on a
nearby apple tree. Sings all the time
March 27/34 [1934] Savanna Sparrow again in
same place + sings away in spite of heavy rain.
May 4, 1934 Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] a pair nesting
in clover field
May 1936 - Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] Three pairs
nesting in pasture near house
May 1937. Nesting as usual about
ranch Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia]
May 1938 Several pair nesting in field near
ranch house. Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia]
