Note that yellow heather predominates at top of
mountain between cairns alt [altitude] of 7400' down to
about 7200' where the white heather is very heavy
On top of this ridge are considerable areas of
very stunted balsam amongst which I noted
numerous Ptarmigan droppings.-
July 17. 1937. 3400' Bright + hot. Skinned all
a.m. [morning] In early morning saw a few birds about
camp. Pine Grosbeak, heard. 1
Pine Grosbeak[word crossed out] Siskin. 35/40
Ruby Cr. [Crowned] Kinglet 2
Thrush 2
Hummingbirds 2
In afternoon drove to Arrowhead. Collected
in lowlands. Very warm + mosquitos very bad.
Between Revelstoke + Arrowhead noticed
the following birds
Osprey 1
Crows 9
Eastern Kingbird 7
Vaux swift. 2
Mtn [Mountain] Bluebird 2
Olive-backed Thrush 3
Redstart 1
Red-eyed vireo 3
Robin 2
Hummingbird 1
Ground squirrels numerous everywhere
