Brazeau Lake. July 8, 1944.
Climbed winter sheep range N. [North] of cabin
Snow drifts from recent fall about 1 ft [foot]
deep. On east face of hill 13 rams
were feeding on willow leaves on
the sides:- recorded 50 animal
minutes of willow browsing.
13 head included 3 9 year olds +/-
On ridge were 2 ad [adult] ewes.
Voice:- Several times while I watched the
rams bleated to each other in very deep
tones. Alarmed sheep gave coughing
snort.
Shot one ad [adult] ram - very thin.
This animal had posterior third of
diaphragmatic lobes scar tissue. Very
heavy stomach worm infestation.
9 year old - horns 85 1/2 - 36 teeth good.

Sheep trails across the river
are well used + indicate a good
population there.

I examined the winter range
5 miles east of here. Grass is mostly
