habits Doe with 2 fawns noted at 11:50
all 3 lay down close together at
11:57. All lay in the sun, doe
in exposed location, fawns in
shelter of a log but in sun.
beds about 15 to 20 ft [feet] apart. doe
head w [west], fawns E. [east]
All deer scratched themselves
frequently both when moving +
when lying down. Scratching was
done with hind foot + with lower
incisors.
Horn trees. Saw several arbutus + willow
bushes horned severely. Arbutus
in 2 cases had apparently died as
a result of bark removal.
