Mt [Mount] Arrowsmith May 26, 1940.
Took from a pond at
4100' several Abystoma.
falling into 3 separate size classes.
The smallest where [were] in the
tadpole stage just developing
hind legs. In color these
are a transparent yellowish
white with olive markings
dorsally, a yellowish area along
each maxilla + a dark line
lengthwise through each eye.
Tail spotted with black.
The larger specimens
were of the same dull
yellow ochre ground color
heavily mottled with olive
+ spotted with black. Maxillary
stripe [word crossed out] area yellow. Underparts
dusky. throat + floor [word crossed out] chin
white.
Water temperature 30 [degree symbol]. Some
ice still on pond.
