involve the construction + maintenance
of dams by man or beaver,
If beaver the first step is
remove the elk + permit the
aspen + willows to regrow.
The flora of this entire area
has suffered greatly from the
overgrazing. The anemones are
getting scarce around town as
a direct result of picking but
the Orchis rotundifolium, [underlined] Cypripedium
, Lillium montanum [underlined] + other plants
have been virtually wiped out by
overgrazing.

Clear + cold after a stormy night
Drove to Yellowhead Pass. Road
rough + treacherous, got stuck
twice, on way back.
Willows all the way along are
in much better shape than in
any previous year. Possibly this
results from the decline in the
moose population

to Miette. Saw many more elk +
