Condition [underlined]: Female poor with poor
pelt. Several healing scratches on
sides of chest. an open cut on
right side of muzzle.
Dermacentor andersoni [underlined] present.
No internal parasites in [male symbol] [female symbol] not
examined.
Food [underlined]:- Stomach contained just
remains of a fresh adult elk
Principally parts of stomach +
bits of skin from face + lip.

Saw 2 black bears, one at cabin, 1
3 miles west.

Saw 3 black bear + 1 brown today.
Black grazing on grass + forbs - siezed [seized]
them close to ground + tore them off.
Saw 10 dropping deposits all
but 1 grass + weeds.
1 grass 50% deer hair 50%.
Radium June 28/43 [1943]
Saw 4 bear, 3 black + 1 brown en route
Radium to Vermilion. Watched one black
bear grazing grass + weeds. He seized each
plant close to the base + pulled it up
