In June 1949 + July 1949.
two reports accompanied by specimens
reached me of M. [Microtus] richardsoni
doing serious agricultural damage
while at very high pop. [population] peak.
They appeared first in the early
summer + had not been noted
as very ab. [abundant] the previous fall.
Gold bridge near Lillooet + Fauquier
near Arrow Lakes were the
two places. A.E. Boden reported
from Fauquier
Elsewhere in the province
M. [Microtus] montanus was in a very high
peak from Kamloops south
M. [Microtus] drummondi moderately high
in some localities. Reported Fauquier
winter 48-49 + elsewhere (Wms [Williams] Lake). Lemmus
at Coldfish Lake
Other species of microtus not notably
abundant.
