Examined + photographed a coyote
with such bad mange as to just [word crossed out] have
lost almost all its hair. A few
straggling tufts along the mid dorsal
line, the ears + lower legs was
all the fur remaining.
It was weak + apparently not
very active. Sex [female symbol]. apparently yearling
George Camp last Sunday found a dead
elk calf, cause of death unknown
but coyote were feeding on the
carcass.

trail today. Fresh tracks near the cabin

Saw a coyote just west of the cabin
It was being pursued by a pair of
thrush + a pair of Audobon warblers.

Jim [Simpson] shot a [female symbol] coyote on hill above
cabin. Wt [weight] 23 lbs. [pounds] Had had pups.

3 miles back along the trail.
