- Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] found a porcupine in a tree
overhanging Sorenson. We all went
up to see it after dinner. Just
before dinner Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] went rushing
up the road and returned with
the squirrel that had moved into
the nest we caught Ladybug (the
other squirrel) from - and a young
one - about 2 weeks old Nancy [Mahoney] said.
As the mother was badly disturbed
Nancy [Mahoney] adopted it, and has been
carrying it around inside her shirt.
We met Violet Johnson and
Gerry Frizzie [Frizzy] on the hill above
Sorenson. Butch (the dog) found
two nets in the grass - one duck,
and one small dark bird with
pale blue and brown mottled eggs.
They came down after and watched
Nancy [Mahoney] feed the baby, and saw
Ladybug.
Today is the first day the
swallows have been carrying
nest material - [female symbol] [female symbol] only. The
snatch it up off the ground as
they fly by.
Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] also thinks he saw a [female symbol]
hooded merganser on Sorenson this
afternoon.
