Set out 2 steel + 25 more mouse traps. Shot a brown bat. Anarchist Mt. [Mountain] B.C. [British Columbia] June 22, 1936. Finally caught a jumping mouse - also 4 Peromyscus + 2 M. [Microtus] mordax. Shot a chipmunk + squirrel. Lots of young Columbian groundsquirrel out, around camp young + old alike have become exceedingly tame. Mice are exceedingly scarce here this year - even Perys [Peromyscus]. Saw a large Varying Hare, dark brown with white feet Had a long, tedious chase after what I took to be a Magnolia Warbler.
