sight for several seconds before
I noticed him + he had remained
motionless, but the instant
my eyes fell on him he was
up and away.
A [At] 12 noon put up a doe by Mavis Lake. (see below)
At 2 P.M. I put up a doe
bedded in the tall sedge of
a small meadow. The sedge
was taller than the deer which
was visible only at the top of
each bounce.
At 4 P.M. I noticed a doe feeding
in a small clump of Myrica [underlined]
in the big meadow. I do not know
whether I had disturbed it +
started it feeding, possibly I
had. This animal was collected
Temperature in the sun 82.
