  • LEFT PAGE 174 Steamer "Diana" Wooden propeller. Very small and narrow. Was lost off Cape Flattery. Came out here as a tuna Boat for Stamps Mill Also carried mails to San Juan during the joint occupation --- Steamer "Herman" --- Steamer "Barnard Castle" Iron Built propeller. Wrecked at Race Rocks. Total Loss. Used as a Collier by Dunsmuir & [and] Co [company] Her wreck was blown to pieces by Dynamite and taken to Frisco [San Francisco] by Whitelaw --- Steamer "Hylton Castle" Iron propeller. Carried coals for Dunsmuir under charter for some time and finally went back to England again. --- RIGHT PAGE 175 Bark "Robert Kerr" Condemmed at Burrard Inlet. Sold at Auction at Victoria to Bill Soule. Since sold to C.P.R. Co [Canadian Pacific Railway Company] Used now as a Coal hulk. Old fashioned Wooden Ship. --- Steamer "Woodside" Lost off Barclay Sound. Small wooden propeller. Built at Sooke B.C. for Muir & [and] Co's [company's] Saw Mill. --- Steamer "Emma" Built for Joe Spratt on San Juan Island. Small wooden propellor. Was used for various trades. At one time was whaling around Barclay Sound. In October 1891 ran on a Reef near to Trial Island. Total loss. All hands saved. Capt [captain] George Brown in Charge. --- "Spratts Ark" A large Double End scow Shaped boat built at Victoria of wood. Propellor ---
