- Caribou
Mt [Mount] Revelstoke B.C. [British Columbia] July 5. 1937. Alt. [altitude] 6000'
Found droppings on side hill near clump of
Balsam. These possibly several months
old. Mr [W.M.] Moore advised that the band of
Caribou in the Park range from the Mt [Mount] Revelstoke
northward to 18 mile Creek + that they winter as
low as 14 miles on this mountain. Since the
advent of the Big Bend Highway the
caribou noticeably decreased
in the Park + now remain in the
mountains about the headwaters of
Jordan Creek north of Revelstoke
