There are fresh wolf tracks
on the mud bank at camp
here. At one place the animal
dug in a mud bank but the
purpose was obscure. En
route here saw wolf
tracks along the river bank
near some fresh beaver work

Saw fresh wolf tracks along Canal
River 3 miles west of here. Also a
scat 100% snowshoe rabbit.
Reindeer Station June 10/47 [1947]
This winter a wolf, behaving strangely
came at night on 3 successive
nights around Feb. [February] 6, + bit, slightly,
the 3 dogs here. Dogs 16 to 21 days
later lost their appetites, seemed unable
to swallow + in 2 days or less were
dead. Did not become convulsed +
give any sign of highly serious
condition. Wolf was shot + head of
wolf + one dog was sent to Dr [doctor]
Lane. His report in Mr [Lee] Posts
hands.
Aklavik River[?] Aug. [August] 3/47 [1947].
This last winter there were 3 separate instances
reported of wolf attacks on dogs. At winter head
camp 10 miles below Reindeer Station on January 22
Michel Polk + son Nels Polk were on the river with a
team + one of the herd dogs. A wolf appeared +
