June 4. [1929] Kamloops. Bright
Took 1 young + one old female
chipmunk at 7 o'clock in
morning on sage flats, + in pine
pine groves bordering bunch grass
meadows alt. [altitude] 1800. The young
one climbed 10 ft [feet] up a large pine
These were about 500 vertical
feet above the stream + had
to descend cliff for water.
Took 1 [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol] T. f. [Thomomys fuscus] fuscus in
runways. 1 [male symbol] in the same
workings as formerly, making
2 [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol] from the workings,
1 [female symbol] in bunch grass area. Found
a piece of cactus in the burrows
Examined stomach of vole No [Number] 128
it contained bunch grass solely.
June 5. [1929] Kamloops, BC. [British Columbia] Bright.
Took a [male symbol] + a [female symbol] + a [female symbol] juv. [juvenile] chipmunk
together (125-#) They were in a dry
creek bed. Maple, sask. [saskatoon] berry
pine, sage + bunch grass were
predominant. When first observed
they were all 3 in a low bush.
