- Ovis canadensis.
4 hard white cysts in liver.
Many hard nodules in wall of cecum
+ upper 12 inches of colon. Some of
these cys [word crossed out] nodules contained a white
inclusion, others a black one. Specimens.
preserved in fixing fluid.
Feces from colon preserved.
Teth [Teeth] in good condition - moderate
wear. A noteworthy condition was an accumulation
of gas beneath the skin - crackled on touch.
Licks:- One at lime kiln.
One 2 miles W [west] of kiln both
dry snarl licks.
Shale Banks - Aug [August] 14/43 [1943]
Sheep use both shale licks here
occassionally [occasionally]
Range:- High grass plateaux slope toward
west on W [west] side of Snake Indian.
Perfect sheep summer range:
Food:- Stomach contents of last specimen
60% grass
20% willow
20% unid. [unidentified] vegetation.

Hunter Dr. TJ Hammett. of New York told me
that in September 2 years ago after heavy
snowstorms sheep were abundant on the
lower slopes of the Mt. [Mountain] east of here
However there is no sign of sheep on the
ridge west of here.
