May 29 [1932] Skinned the weasel + worked
around camp in morning.
In afternoon set some
rabbit snares + re set 2
weasel traps further up the
river. Saw a Sharp shin
Hawk. Pileated Woodpecker
2 Red breasted Sapsuckers
May 30 [1932] Took three rabbits in the
8 snares set yesterday, one
of them had been eaten about
the throat so I set a steel
trap at the spot. Shot a
young rabbit about 8 in. [inches] long
[female symbol] carried 5 embryos about
2 in [inches] long. All males have
testes very much enlarged.
One animal was very heavily
infested with the cystocircus [cysticercus]
stage of the tape worm
