  • Otocoris [Otocorys] Alpestris Articoea Alaska Horned Lark #474a Alta Lake BC [British Columbia] 6/26/24 [June 26, 1924] numerous from 6500' [feet] to 7000' [feet] on eastern shoulders [spurs written above line] + mountains adjacent to Mt Whistler. Breeding. One young bird seen, the gray + white colouring harmonizing exactly with the rock + moss amongst which these birds breed. This young bird could only fly a few feet + scared with approach within a few inches. The parent birds bravely flew at me + tried to drive us away. Kamloops B.C. [British Columbia] April 1927. Many great flocks were seen above the town near golf links. Only remained about for 10 days or a fortnight. Aug. [August] 2/28 [1928] Mt. Whistler. Seen in many places, usually from 6000 [feet] upwards on the open rocky areas. Many were young birds almost fully feathered. These collected.
