- There was no animosity between Dama + Sika
or Dama + Red Deer. But red deer [male symbol]'s + Sika
males were definitely antagonistic though the
latter did not seem to be rutting. At least
the [male symbol]'s + [female symbol]'s were scattered, usually with
the herds of Dama.
No sign of rut in Dama. Note that
Sika [female symbol]'s jump like mule deer + have large
rump patch.
Stags frequently erected the penis + protruded
it when roaring.
In the evening Dined with [Finn] Salomonsen
+ noted several book titles from his
excellent library. Caught the train at 9:30
at Oosterport + came in here, arriving at
8:40.
This afternoon I explored this end of
old Stokholm [Stockholm] admiring its cleanliness + many
fine buildings, then went out to
Skansen to the Zoo + Biological museum.
There is nothing noteworthy about the animal
part of the zoo but the ethnological
exhibits are very fine.
The museum is unique as it has one
big circular exhibit of the vertebrates of
Sweden starting from the sea + beach, through
bird cliffs to forest + tundra. This is
viewed from 2 levels a ground level +
a tree top level. There are several hundred
