- Ursus prob. [probably] americanus
Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke, B.C. [British Columbia] July 5, 1937.
Examined 3 lots of old feces.
One - winter deposit on the
snow - was largely Usnea
with some sedge. Another
was ants, some rotten wood
+ some balsam needles.
A third was of berry pulp
+ seeds - probably blue berries.
Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke. July 8, 1937.
Found a bear dropping
composed entirely of seeds of
the alpine parsnip.
July 9./37. [1937]
Encountered a [female symbol] with one
cub. She was quite a small
bear - weight I should say
about 150 lbs [pounds]. They had
been feeding along a
moist stream eating
grasses + weeds I was not
able to identify.
Texas Cr. [Creek] Lillooet dist [district]. Nov. 3-4.
Droppings contained nothing
but seeds + scales of cones
of Pinus albicaulis.
