June 23 [1931]. Packed up our outfit + moved
out of the country. On the way
out to the car Mr [Kenneth] Racey took
a male Townsend warbler in full
song but with a most peculiar
song. Drove over to Alberni
arriving at Beaver Creek at
about 7:30 On the Arrowsmith
summit we saw a yearling doe
in the process of moult.
June 24 [1931]. Packed up our outfit
+ cleaned skulls nearly all
day. Continued Rain.
June 25 [1931]: Glued together the
bits of some of the whistler
skulls + skinned a large
[female symbol] Blue grouse taken on Green
Mountain.
June 26 [1931] Packed everything into the
car + said good bye to Beaver Creek
Stopped at Hilliers for lunch with
Arthur Peak, he gave us directions
about getting in the Green Mt [Mountain] via
Nanaimo lake Raod. At 4 oclock
we pulled into the [Hamilton Mack] Laings at
Comox. We made camp in their
garage + had dinner with them
seeing all the Rocky Mt [Mountain] Photographs.
Set out a line of mouse traps
Photographed a 3 weeks old fawn
that Monks had.
