May 5th 1923 18 nests examined in
flats at Terra Novae [Nova].
Three contained full clutches of 5 eggs
2 were partially build[?] 1/4
1 was 1/2 build[?]
12 appeared to be fully completed
nests of which four had no
entrance opening. One clutch of eggs
was taken from a nest fallen over on
one side + when these eggs were blown
all were fresh A second clutch taken
had commenced incubating. Openings of
nests nearly all faced South or S.W. [southwest]
+ nests were all from 24 to 36 inches
from the ground. Noticed that these
wren do not nest close to the R W [red wing] blackbirds
nests.
May 15th 1924 In company Major Brooks
19 nests found young all fledged except
in one nest in which were 5 eggs partly
incubated, nest + entrance were completely
plugged up with bullrush down, leaves +
feathers + appeared deserted. Young were able
to fly about + care for themselves.

Popcom Lake B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] May 1st. 27 [1927] Two [male symbol] seen
one taken.
Lulu Island [underlined] BC [British Columbia] May 3/30 [1930] Twelve
nests found on Tule's but none
contained eggs. Saw + heard several
birds.
Lulu Isd [Island] BC [British Columbia] Feby. [February] 17. 1940. In middle of
stubble + clover field at left of end of Blundell
Rd. [road] flushed a bird several times It appeared finally
[line cut off when scanned]
