The papers today were
superficial.
One young fellow reported
using radioactive gold wire
(gold 198) for marking mice.
He introduced a bar 1mm [millimeter] x 10mm [millimeters]
of gold wire under the skin of
the abdomen.
With the geiger counter equipped
with an extension on the
pick up head he was able
to locate his mice from 10 ft [feet]
distance. Persisted for 10 days.
There is a paper by Griffiths
in Ecol. Monogr. [Ecological Monographs] outlining all
the techniques for Radioactive
tagging.
