On drive to Devona and back
starting at 9 AM + returning by
6 PM. saw elk as follows.
29 cows 3 calves 4 bulls.
Autopsy:- All still in winter coat. Shot
one old female - no fat
not pregnant. No ticks.

Kills [underlined]:- Found a bull elk at 11 mile
Dead about a week - some coyote
dung but some larger animal than
a coyote had been at the kill.
Tongue + throat eaten out + flesh
off both hams - Also paunch +
liver. (Not a predator kill - believed to have
been wounded.

Shot a cow elk at Willys Ranch.
About 3 or 4 years old + with a single
foetus.
Calf: [male symbol] foetus weight 38 lbs [pounds], measured 970
mm [millimetres] total length + 385 mm [millimetres] hind foot.
Made coyote sets at the carcase [carcass].
Census: Counted 72 elk, of which sexes + ages as
follows cows 56, calves 5, bulls 5
Cows looked thin.
