  • Ahbau + up the trail about 5 miles. It has been a terrible days grind in the hot sun + thank heaven it is over, We are both all in. Heard the first Olive sided Flycatcher, quite a number of Townsend warblers, Found a Juncos nest with 5 eggs. They are Cassiar Juncos here all right. Saw 5 Calliope hummers [hummingbirds], both male + female, they seem almost as common as the Rufous back if not more so. May 19. [1932] Packed our outfit + headed West from the main trail till we struck the Ahbau Creek, (Little Cottonwood or Graveyard Cr. [Creek]) Here we made camp on a small grassy flat beside the river looks like an old channel of the river. Put a couple of bridges across the creek. Birds: Macgillivray Warbler, 3 Vaux Swifts + 10 Sand Martins. Several Calliope Hummers [hummingbirds].
